About this event
Exploring data through visualization helps researchers understand relationships, identify unusual observations, and uncover meaningful patterns. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to create clear and effective data visualizations using the ggplot2 package in R, one of the most widely used frameworks for data visualization. We’ll introduce the grammar of graphics and demonstrate how its layered approach enables you to build flexible and customizable visualizations. We’ll also demonstrate how generative AI can support the visualization workflow and how to evaluate and refine data visualizations.***Participants are invited to submit a de-identified dataset ( or simply describe their data structure and variables) by the end of September if they would like to see their own data or research topic featured during the workshop. To participate, please send your submission to yxt7pg@virginia.edu by the end of September. A selection of submissions will be incorporated into the workshop examples and demonstrations.
